Allen T.Y. Chan
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong

Director since 1994; after co-founding Sino-Forest in 1992; previously worked twelve years as a management consultant and project manager in China; previously worked for Hong Kong government in new town development and management programs.

Corporate citizenship roles 
In 2008, Mr Chan was appointed as member of the Jiangxi Standing Committee of the Tenth Session of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference* (“CPPCC”).

Also, appointed as Council Member of Renmin University of China (“RUC”, also known as the People’s University of China) for a three-year term from 2008 onwards.

*Note: The CPPCC consists of government and non-government members, who discuss Chinese policies and principles. Although the CPPCC has not been formally included in the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, its role and powers are somewhat analogous to an advisory legislative upper house and there have been occasional proposals to formalize this role in the PRC Constitution.
