Corporate citizenship roles  In 2008, Mr Chan was appointed as member of the Jiangxi Standing Committee of the Tenth Session of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference* (“CPPCC”). Also, appointed as Council Member of Renmin University of China (“RUC”, also known as the People’s University of China) for a three-year term from 2008 onwards. *Note: The CPPCC consists of government and non-government members, who discuss Chinese policies and principles. Although the CPPCC has not been formally included in the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, its role and powers are somewhat analogous to an advisory legislative upper house and there have been occasional proposals to formalize this role in the PRC Constitution.
